LIVE IN CARE

What is Live-In Care?

A live-in care is a personal carer who lives in their client's home to enable their needs to be met. It is an increasingly popular alternative to moving into a residential home. it offers a way of continuing to live as independently as possible at home while receiving incomparable level of one-to-one support. Some carers live-in all the time while others work on a rota pattern of 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off. A carer is available throughout the day and at night to help your relative.

The primary role of a live-in carer is to enable the person requiring the care to continue to enjoy a secure, comfortable and independent life within the familiar surroundings of their own home. The carer works with his patient to meet their daily needs and wishes, embracing personal care, housekeeping and companionship.

Who is Live-In care for?

Live-in care is for anybody who wishes to remain independent in their own home but requires a basic to complex nursing-led level of support to improve their quality of life. It might suit your relative if they need help with:

* Personal care 9washing & dressing)

* Taking medication

* Cooking

* Shopping

* Housework (cleaning, laundering, gardening, tidying up...)

* Reduce the risk of falls and accidents

* Trips out (to doctors, hairdressers, supermarket... as well as hobbies)

Reasons to choose Live-In Care

* A dedicated 1 to 1 careprovided by experienced and qualified carers. 24/7 a week.

* At home: your relative stays at his own home, surrounded by his belongings, in a complete familiar setting.

* Routine is maintained, and the fear and increased confusion caused by mobbing into an unfamiliar environment is avoided.

* Peace of mind: the carer can help to look after a pet that might otherwise be put for adoption or sent to  a new home if their owner went into a residential care.

* A little restriction as possible: A live-in care can allow your relative to continue life normally by going to daily activities or appointment.

* Holidays and way of Life: if your relative is still able to travel for holidays, this may only be possible if they are able to take a full-time carer with them.

* Specialist training: our live-in carers are specially trained to deal with such conditions as dementia, Parkinson's, stroke, MS or palliative care.

*Staying Together: for couples, the cost of live-in care is significantly less than a residential setting and loving partners are able to stay together. in some cases, where one has dementia, they are separated in residential settings.
